Inversion Therapy Details

by Jared Marks

Inversion therapy, or the act of hanging upside down by your feet for medicinal purposes, is gaining increasing interest in recent years. Hanging upside down can be accomplished in several ways, but in order to achieve the medicinal value hanging upside down cannot be accomplished by standing on your hands, standing on your head or, hanging from your knees. Instead you must use an inversion table, inversion chair, or even gravity boots.

In order to understand inversion therapy one needs to understand what causes a lot of back pain. The spine is comprised of discs interspaced with a jelly like substance. Over time, due to gravity, or constant pounding from activities such as running, the jelly like substance can bulge out hitting the surrounding nerves and causing pain. When you invert your body as in inversion therapy the discs in the spine, and actually all the joints in the body are loaded in a manner exactly opposite of what one gets in a standing position. This inverted positional allows the joints to stretch back to a more natural position and hopefully relieve some chronic pain.

Inversion therapy also reduces back pain by way of loosening muscles as well. The new position allows them to stretch in ways that were impossible in a standing position. This loosening of the muscles can also help reduce back pain – when it’s related to muscle tightness.

Inversion therapy has several benefits in addition to the most publicized, that of relieving back pain. Supporters claim that is also helps improve posture, aids in cardiovascular and lymphatic circulation, and helps with flexibility depending on how and how often you use the device.

Some of these benefits have already been covered, namely back pain and flexibility (in some respect). Circulation is another exciting benefit however, that most people know very little about. Proponents of inversion therapy claim that hanging upside down encourages increased blood flow and oxygen to the brain resulting in clearer and sharper thinking. Lymphatic circulation has also been shown to increase. The lymphatic system is not equipped with a pump as the cardiovascular system is. The inverted position seems to allow the lymphatic system to work faster and expel waste more efficiently from the system – which makes for a faster recovery time from athletic pursuits.

There are some opponents to inversion therapy. However, there basic argument is that inversion therapy does nothing, not that it’s harmful. About a decade ago there were some claims that it could cause a stroke in participants who suffered from heart problems, however, this was later disproved by the very researcher who wrote the original article. My research has concluded that no significant injury has occurred as a result of inversion therapy as long as the products have been on the market. The only consistent side effect has been straining of the neck muscles resulting from participants using the devices for too long and too soon. Please do consult with a physician though if you suffer from any chronic heart conditions, eye conditions, or are pregnant.

Jared is a health guru who writes about the differences between (http://hubpages.com/hub/Inversion-Chair-vs-Inversion-Table) inversion chairs and inversion tables and the (http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Use-Inversion-Tables) benefits of inversion table therapy.
                               ——————————

Aroma Therapy Essential Oils – An Overview

There are many benefits of the use of massage. These include relaxation in general, the increased circulation of blood flow, the easement of stress and pressure that has accumulated over the day and the enhancement of physiological and emotional state of mind.

Benefits of Massage Therapy

Massaging causes the muscular tissues to become more relaxed which in turn increases their range of gesture. This is an huge benefit when tautness of the muscles causes a restriction in movement. Relaxed muscles as well aid to reduce insomnia.

Improved bɭood supply to the muѕcleѕ assists with thе recovery of muscular sorеnеss from physical аctivity.

Massage steps up endorphin levels in the body. This is highly advantageous as endorphins are the ‘feel good’ chemicals created naturally by our bodies. Heightened endorphin levels aid in dealing with chronic back trouble.

Precautions

Take note that when receiving massage therapy for the back, the pressure applied during the massage should evoke a response of relaxatíon ín ƭhe muscɭes. If this does not occur thе mūscles may be inflamed possibly due to an acutе ínjury of thе muscle. Iɳ this casе massage therapy shouɭd be put off unƭil ƭhe inflammation subsidеs and it may be advísed to consult а doctor.

For better solutions, muscle spasms broadly require four massage treatments, normally spread over six weeks. Should the muѕcle spasms not respond to therapy after two massages, ít mаy be advisabɭe to seek an aɭternative therapy.

nonetheless if the pain is severe it is recommended to first undergo a complete medical check-up prior to beginning a program of back massage therapy.

Conclusion

For thosе seekiɳg chronic back pain relief there is а wide variеty of treatment options availablе both in conventionаl medicine and alternative therapies. Whatever your preference of ƭreaƭmenƭ, bаck massage therapy cаn bе а highly beneficial partner in yoūr quest for relíef.

Find Daily Swedish Massage In A Massage Chair

by Susy H Esquire

Massage chair recliners have come a long way over the years from simple vibrating chairs to very sophisticated massage chairs with heat, music and various massage therapies. One of the most basic massage techniques is known as Swedish massage or classic massage. The Swedish massage was developed in the 18th century by Henrik Ling. Swedish massage is very effective in allowing the body to absorb more oxygen.

Most of us experience stress in our daily lives. We may be under pressure at work which gives us mental stress. Mental stress causes us to tense up which means are muscles are not relaxing. We may be working out and exerting more physical activity. The muscles become sore and ache after being under the stress of exercise. Both mental and physical stress can take its toll on the body.

Swedish massage was developed to help relieve the daily build up of stress in the body. The Swedish massage technique can alleviate pain, aches and soreness. Swedish massage is considered one the most basic massage styles and helps to alleviate and remove the tension, anxiety and pain on a periodic basis to improve well being.

Effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapottement, traction and vibration are the 6 elements of Swedish massage. Each element of the Swedish massage technique is defined here. The use of long sweeping strokes covering many parts of the body is Effleurage. The use of kneading and squeezing of the muscles is Petrissage. The use of heat to help blood flow and muscle relaxation is Friction. The use of tapping and chopping motions to loosen muscles is Apottement. The use of pulling and stretching the arms and legs is Traction. The use of shaking to loosen muscles and stimulate the capillary vessels is Vibration.

These 6 techniques have been integrated into the best massage chair recliners on the market today. These massage recliners uses different mechanical components to accomplish these massage techniques. Effleurage is performed by rollers in the chair back and covers the neck, shoulders and back. Petrissage is performed by the rollers moving toward each other in a pinching or kneading movement. Friction is accomplished by adding heating elements in the chair to warm up areas of the body. Tapottement is performed by the rollers doing a rhythmic tapping action. Traction is used in the lower body by mechanically raising and then lowering the footrest to stretch the lower body out. Vibration is performed by the placement of vibrating motors in strategic locations in the chair.

When looking for a massage chair recliner, make sure the model you see performs all 6 techniques. Both Panasonic and Omega Massage have the most advanced massage chairs. The Omega Montage Elite massage chair can perform all 6 elements. The Panasonic Real Pro Elite is the next closest, but is lacking heat, so it has 5 of the 6 Swedish massage elements. The Omega Montage Elite massage chair has full body heat capabilities to deliver the Friction element. The effectiveness of each element varies by model and manufacturer. So try out the Omega Montage Elite or the Panasonic Real Pro Elite for the best massage chair for Swedish massage.

Swedish massage has come along way from the days of Henrik Ling. Mr. Ling would be amazed that the techniques he pioneered have been engineered into the robotic massage chairs of today. Many of the same benefits provided by his pioneering efforts can be found in these mechanical masseuses. However, Mr. Ling found the real benefits of Swedish massage when it was performed on a routine basis. Sporadic visits to the Spa are not as effective as periodic application. If you are looking for Swedish massage techniques, a massage chair recliner is an excellent way to perform on a routine basis.

Swedish massage treatments are famous for its many long term results. Get Frequent Swedish Massages from a (http://www.massageunlimited.com) Massage Chair perfect for your needs. Find the latest (http://www.massageunlimited.com/) Massage Chairs from the best massage chair brands like Omega Massage, Sanyo, Panasonic, and Human Touch.

by Philip Vincent

Chiropractic and massage therapy work very well together. So much so, that it’s not uncommon for Doctors of Chiropractic to employ or lease space to massage therapists in their very own office.

Some people have visited a massage therapist for stress relief or to deal with a persistent and chronic neck or back pain problem. When they didn’t quite get the lasting relief they were looking for, they went to see a chiropractor.

While the chiropractor can work wonders on moving the spine and returning it’s normal function, some patients end up missing their regular massages. They begin to think that they are “cheating” on their chiropractor and get nervous about whether or not they should even mention their visits.

Your chiropractor will usually be very happy you are seeing a massage therapist (depending on your condition). While the chiropractor adjusts the spine to affect the nerves and the surrounding soft tissues (including the muscles), they may not be able to spend the half hour or an hour that you may need to really get our muscles relaxed.

Having a professional massage your and relax any muscle tightness and spasm will help the chiropractor’s ability to give you a more relaxed, pain-free spinal adjustment. The more tense the muscles are when the doctor administers the adjustment, the less comfortable it can be.

From a long term stand point, the Doctor of Chiropractic is also happy to have the improved blood flow and relaxed muscles too. While the doctor moves the bones, it’s ultimately the muscles that will end up maintaining the bones in their proper place.

If you typically spend all day sitting at the computer and your muscles tend to get very tense (like most of us), it makes sense that you’ll benefit from regular massages. Your chiropractor will not object to this in most cases. Where some people experience problems is when they have a herniated disc, or other condition that involves a lot of inflammation.

When your muscles are very inflamed, a deep tissue massage may tend to increase the inflammation, making things temporarily more painful. When the muscles are more painful, they are more difficult to work with and can keep the chiropractor from being able to work on your spine to the degree that they would prefer.

Talk over any treatments that you are considering or currently doing with any health care provider. Many are okay, and don’t think you’re “cheating” on anyone.

Cant Easy Bruising Be a Sign of Von Willebrand’s Disease?

by Carolyn Cooper

When you acknowledge the fact that you are getting large bruises from an insignificant bump, you may very well become concerned, and when discuss this bruising with your friends, they are going to be concerned for your well being as well. When it comes to determining the causes for your bruising easily, there are a variety of reasons for why it could present a problem for you. Although some of these theories can be accurately applied to your situation, others can be ruled out immediately. Easy bruising is an important symptom for the generally rare Von Willebrand’s disease, and the question as to whether you have been afflicted by it could well be one that troubles you. Let’s examine this disorder and determine what it might mean to you?

To begin with we should recognize that Von Willebrand’s disease is a clotting disorder, in which your blood has difficulty coagulating normally. For this reason, even the mildest scrapes and bumps can cause a lot of blood being shed, and this means beneath the skin as well as over it. Because the blood flow can be excessive when the tissue is damaged, the resultant bruises can be fairly large and dramatic, and they can show up seemingly without reason. Many people are floored when they discover such a large amount of bruising from such a minor bump or a scrape.

What are the causes of being afflicted by Von Willebrand’s disease? For the greatest number of afflicted people, Von Willebrand’s disease is present at birth. It is chiefly a hereditary condition where adults within a family pass it down to their children for generations on end. There have been rare cases reported where Von Willebrand’s disease has been acquired by adults later in life. In these rare instances, the problem has been found that the body has created auto-antibodies, which realistically destroy the material that causes clotting to happen effectively and quickly. Considering this information, you’ll find that there are specific conditions which can lead to this affliction as an adult, the most likely cause being lupus.

Having said all this, is Von Willebrand’s disease a reason for you to worry? To answer this question you will need to determine whether you have any of the added symptoms besides just bruising easily. Generally, nosebleeds and bleeding gums are additional symptoms of this disease. Woman’s additional symptoms may include excessive blood loss during childbirth and overly heavy menstrual flows.

If you have the condition where you are noticing extra bruising, keep in mind that you need to exhaust all of your options to determine the causes for your bruising. There can be numerous different reasons why you are bruising more easily than you think is normal, but the real likelihood is that your bruising is not something that’s serious.

Any serious issues should be taken to a doctor, but if your bruising is just an effect of your getting older, you should take a look at Bruises Be Banned, which is a unique, all natural daily treatment program that has been specially formulated to help reduce bruising or prevent bruising altogether.

The reason why it is important to visit a store, it may be differences of massage chairs before buying. But before you try physically chairs, it is useful to know what are the differences in models and brands.

Three things that differentiate the massage chairs are as massage, physical design and upholstery. Other changes are less obvious and have to read carefully the specifications of small things to learn, but on the chair.

Most chairs come with rolling, kneading, tapping and percussion. These are the most important elements included in each massage chair massage, in every price range. More expensive chairs offer an extension of these functions and the possibility of combining the functions to be performed simultaneously or in sequence specific.

Massage techniques vary in their range of speed and intensity of these functions. Chairs may be increasingly a range of speeds and intensities, while the president could provide more basic functions of a single speed and no distinction in intensity.

The cushioning material is generally used by manufacturers of premium lines to distinguish the lines. Leather and leathermatch cost more and are often packaged with other features luxury high-end, while the microfiber cloth seats and is a staple of the budget chairs.

The physical design can be a deal breaker for some people looking for a president who is the dcor of your home or office. This can be something as simple as the color selection of Presidents or the contours and shape of the chair. If aesthetics are not right, some have a couple of wheelchairs that can be tilted and rolled to a storage place and out of sight.

From all these considerations, comfort is important. The objective of the chair is in its ability to provide comfort and relaxation and in many cases double in a chair.

Did you buy something that will help you relax at the end of the day. The massage helps to improve blood flow and many other health benefits. It must be something nice to look forward.

A body massage is an ancient form of physical therapy.

The massage was an important adjunct to the ceremonial bath in Greek and Roman cultures.

It is widely practiced today by people from all walks of life.

A massage given by a professional therapist is wonderfully relaxing and refreshing.

You’ll feel like a new person after a massage, filled with a new-found energy to get work done.

Most of us do know what a massage is, but there are some people who haven’t had a professional massage yet.

This article will bring the body massage into closer and clearer focus.

You must have experienced a fair share of massages given to you, and you must have given others a number of massages yourself.

Even at that non-professional level you’ll have noticed how the person receiving the massage feels and reacts.

That’s the basic idea behind the activity known as a massage.

The body massage has found a place of importance in a number of alternative therapies which are a continuation of the ancient, classical medical traditions.

Let’s see what a massage therapist does.

You must visit a qualified, trained, professional masseur to get the real benefits of a full body massage.

He will take you into a private cabin.

There you will have to lie prone on the massage table, with a sheet draped over your body.

The massage is given directly to the body areas and so you have to remove your clothes.

Immediately afterwards you’ll feel the pressure getting less and with it you’ll feel a relaxation that is very pleasant.

The pain, the soreness and the tiredness you came in with, will just evaporate!

The massaging effect exercises your blood vessels and your nerves.

The blood circulation picks up pace and the nerves get back to their proper position.

The increased blood circulation helps the restorative elements in the blood to reach damaged areas faster and better.

We all know that blood is the vital force of our body.

So enhanced blood flow translates to enhanced vitality and health.

The enhanced blood circulation clears out tension-causing artifacts and toxins from the brain.

It is probably instinctive in those animals that must seek their mother for support and feeding as soon as they are born.

Even if not blind, young ones nestle and cuddle up against their mother when they sleep, the touch, the feel being sufficient to reassure them of a support system.

Our subconscious translates the masseur’s professional touch to a strong, positive symbol of reassurance and of support.
