I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I see a masseuse it’s hard to get the exact massage I need. You try to explain what you want get it doesn’t quite do the trick. This is one of the best things I like about my massage chair. I can simply choose the features to activate, the strength and the area to be covered precisely.

Some massage therapists will adjust their massage based on your input while others just seem to ignore your request. Maybe they have massaged too many people that day in are simply tired. All I know is that it is hard to relax when I have to instruct my therapist what to do.

If all the stars align properly, then I may get the exact massage that I need from a masseuse. This usually happens if I find a really good one and I get a good run of sessions with them. However, then one day I find out that they have left and I must start the process all over again.

Have you ever gotten a massage therapist that you to the light and superficial massage? Usually that occurs after they have done a number of sessions and they are becoming tired. He spent an hour getting a light massage that doesn’t penetrate through the muscles to relieve the tension.

The tough thing about any massage therapy from a masseuse is you are dependent on other people and must go to a certain location. You may like a certain location but then you may have to change massage therapists. This has caused me many times to miss appointments where I really needed the relief.

With my massage chair, it is always available 24 hours a day. It is not a question of the massage chair having time for me, but instead is do I have time for it. I can choose the duration of the massage with the massage chair. I can get a five, 15 or 30 minute massage when I need it.

Of course, there are trade-offs between massage chairs and massage therapists. When I get a good or great massage therapists life is wonderful. However, the convenience and the effectiveness of my massage chair provides me with much more reliable treatments over the long term.

Inversion therapy, or the act of hanging upside down by your feet for medicinal purposes, is gaining increasing interest in recent years. Hanging upside down can be accomplished in several ways, but in order to achieve the medicinal value hanging upside down cannot be accomplished by standing on your hands, standing on your head or, hanging from your knees. Instead you must use an inversion table, inversion chair, or even gravity boots.

In order to understand inversion therapy one needs to understand what causes a lot of back pain. The spine is comprised of discs interspaced with a jelly like substance. This inverted positional allows the joints to stretch back to a more natural position and hopefully relieve some chronic pain.

Inversion therapy also reduces back pain by way of loosening muscles as well. The new position allows them to stretch in ways that were impossible in a standing position. This loosening of the muscles can also help reduce back pain – when it’s related to muscle tightness.

Inversion therapy has several benefits in addition to the most publicized, that of relieving back pain. Supporters claim that is also helps improve posture, aids in cardiovascular and lymphatic circulation, and helps with flexibility depending on how and how often you use the device.

The only consistent side effect has been straining of the neck muscles resulting from participants using the devices for too long and too soon. For years I followed a basic regime and set out my own training schedule to target a particular run, however it wasn’t until I started using sports massage that I realised I’d been missing an important element in my training that soon raised my standard quite considerably.

Sports massage uses a number of specialised techniques and has helped my performance and hopefully prevented a lot of injuries.

It also helped me overcome a particularly painful calf muscle injury I suffered a few years ago.

Some injuries do need specialist treatment from a doctor or physiotherapist and a good sports massage therapist will advise you of this, but for day-to-day niggles, aches and pains sports massage is definitely the way to go.

Also, as I’m not a professional athlete and can’t afford (and probably don’t need) a coach or full-time physio, I find sports massage to be a cost I can bear and a therapy that I can benefit from.
