Have you ever thought about how much we use our shoulders? Without them, we couldn’t throw a ball, scratch our back, swing our arms, or even raise our arms up and down. Our shoulders get a pretty good workout day in and day out. But all of this use also makes our shoulders susceptible to injury-and that susceptibility increases even more with stress and age. The primary set of muscles in the shoulder-the rotator cuff-is where most shoulder injuries occur. By performing exercises specifically selected to strengthen these rotator cuff muscles, you can help reduce your chances of shoulder injuries.

All muscles need proper training and stretching to develop strength and rotator cuff is no different. The rotator cuff exercises help in toning and stretching this muscles which help in building up its resistance to all kinds of wear and tear. These exercises are also great to prevent all kinds of aging effects which can damage the rotator cuff.

Follow the directions carefully to ensure proper execution of each exercise and prevent any exercising injuries.

Here are some rotator cuff exercises which can be done to strengthen and tone this muscle.

Warm Up Before You Exercise

Stretching and warming up is an essential part of all exercises. The lack of a proper warm up can lead to sprains and other injuries. Arm circles are a simple exercise for this purpose. You can do twenty repetitions of these exercises in a set and a total of three sets.

* With your arms at your side, lift them slowly. * Bring your arms up over your head. * Lower your arms behind your back slowly. Then return to the original position. * Repeat for 20 reps per set.

Alternately, you can simply make imaginary vertical circles with your arms. Begin with your arms at your side and take it slow and easy. Warm up exercises help improve blood circulation, particularly to the muscles, and prepare them for additional exercise.

Rotator cuff rotations

Bring your arms up so they are at shoulder height, parallel to the surface on which you are standing. Then bend the forearms, making a right angle at your elbow. Begin to rotate your shoulders and rotator cuffs slowly. Complete 20 reps to make a set and do three sets. If desired, add weights gradually as you build your muscle strength.

Add Lateral Raises To The Routine

This is one of the most well know rotator cuff exercises. You can hold a weight in either hand and then lift your arms sideways to the point where they are parallel to the floor. This exercise is generally done in three sets of twelve reps.

While these are not the only exercises that will strengthen the rotator cuff muscles and shoulders, these are some good ones to get you started. Remember to do a cool down for your muscles, too. Repeating the warm up exercises above is the perfect cool down routine.

Start slow and build up your endurance with these exercises. Don’t race through them or it defeats the purpose and actually increases your chance of injuring the muscles instead of building them up. Use a steady, calm pace to maintain muscle control and build strength.

How To Relieve Carpal Tunnel Symptoms

No matter who you are or what you do, you’ll find that having the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome strike is less than ideal! You might be forced to stop work, you might be in a great deal of pain and you might even find that your job is in danger. Remember that just experiencing the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome means that it is time to pay attention and to see what you can do.

Sometimes we don’t fully value what our hands do for us. They are the primary tools we use to accomplish anything, and we think they are practically expendable! We’ll sit in any position that seems comfortable, putting intense pressure on our wrists and fingers, pushing them to their limits and causing major stress to occur. If you continue with these habits though, the joke will be on you because the effects of carpal tunnel can be debilitating! Working intensely with your hands is something that needs to be monitored, and preventative care steps put into place to ensure you don’t develop carpal tunnel symptoms. Before discussing preventative measures, it is important to understand the nature of carpal tunnel symptoms.

At the most basic level, the pain and damage from carpal tunnel syndrome comes from the compression of the median nerve. The median nerve lies inside the transverse carpal ligament which wraps around the ligaments of your wrist and allows you to get strength and leverage over your arm and hand. It can compress the median nerve an this will only get worse when you are dealing with repetitive motion and poor posture. Take some time and make sure that you consider how you are affecting our body.

The symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome are annoying at best, debilitating at worse, and generally something needs to be done relatively quickly or the symptoms will grow. The symptoms include a weakness, numbness or coldness in the hands, wrists and fingers. This can radiate up the arm to the elbow as well. In some extreme cases, tingling in the fingers or even loss of functionality in the fingers and hands can occur. This can lead to additional problems such as back strain as you work to adjust your posture in favor of your pained hands.

When you are looking at surgery, you’ll find that it is possible with regards to carpal tunnel syndrome, but it is far from the best option. Surgery for this issue involves slicing the transvers carpal ligament. This can reduce the strength of your hand if healing becomes problematic and it does require physical therapy at the end of it.

When you are looking to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, you are going to wonder what your options are going to be. Remember that stretching your hands and shaking them out regularly can go a long way towards alleviating these symptoms. Good posture can help as well and when you are looking at the root cause of this issue, it is usually posture. Sit up straight when you are at work and look for hand and finger exercises.

Remember that surgery is not the only option that you have to deal with, and that there are choices that are much safer in the long run!

Easy ways to find inner peace.One of man’s current troubles is to come up of ways on how to lessen the stress in their lives without having to spend too much money or too much time in the process. In our busy lives, we often encounter a lot bumps that create greater tension and hinder us from doing our best. A way of finding the secrets to relaxation is trying the reiki technique.

This is a Japanese technique which incorporates the way we treat our body in terms of the energy flow inside. A low “life force energy” may suggest that the person is vulnerable to stress and different kinds of body pain while a high “life force energy” may depict a person’s good health and capability of being happy. The reiki technique is about creating a good energy flow that would reduce stress and promote healing from fatigue. It concentrates on creating wholeness in a person, so that it is able to work effectively and properly. A successful practice will lead to happier healthier stress-free life – which is what all of us aim for.

The purpose of this technique is to let your body unwind and release all tension. Let the aches and stress find release, it can be as simple as the practice of meditation where basic and proper breathing keeps the mind and body relaxed. There are various types of meditation, the most common being formal sitting is concentrated in keeping the body immobile and the attention controlled. Examples of these would be Zazen and Vipassana meditation; these elaborate on how a posture can affect our breathing and how our breathing can affect our body’s way to relieve stress. Other meditation techniques involves how a person treats the situations that happens to him/her, there are expressive practices where we are let to have anything happen and be happy with it.

The most common form of getting rid of stress maybe known through massage, in this form a person starts to heal on the outside and moves deeper inside until all the stress is completely gone. A massage slowly terminates the tension in the body be applying pressure to it, the muscles are relax and the person starts to unwind. This leads to the person feeling better and thus thinking better as well, because stress is often related to fatigue, a good massage will find ways to eliminate fatigue and create a better, healthier feel.

Massage involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure, this could be done with the hands, feet, elbows, fingers and forearms of a person. Though massage can be in the comforts of home it is always better to consult a massage therapist. This is someone who is already professionally aware of where to put pressure on the body. Either you set an appointment or request for home therapy.

There are countless ways on how to feel, look and think healthy, either by focusing on your muscle pains and start there which may lead to more relaxed mind, or starting on an optimistic view progressing to a better body and better comfort.
