About Me
Hi my name is Tracey Hughes. I have over 25 years experience using different therapies, which include massage and sports therapy, therefore able to treat a broad range of conditions.
I qualified in 1997 with IIBC massage certificate, then took further diplomas with IIST in remedial massage & management of sports injuries, I completed these at Stoke-on-Trent College.
I then qualified with a BTEC in Science (Sports Therapy) at Tameside College, Ashton-under-Lyne. I have worked in the gym environment, the last one was for 14 years, I then made the decision to open my own clinic. I sponsor my local cricket club Hem Heath & have done for a number of years. I treat a lot of the junior and senior players on a regular basis. I like to keep myself fit, in good condition, and go to the gym, I like to live a healthy lifestyle. I have personal experience of different injuries, ranging from trapped nerves, muscle spasm, torn muscles, along with general aches and pain.
Why Choose Me?
I treat the general public, people of all ages, we all get aches and pains, can suffer stress, and get injuries from time – time, whether it’s work / sport or DIY related. My aim is to assist with a hands-on approach to relieve stresses and strains, and help everyone to become more mobile again, to improve their level of fitness, so they can get on with every day tasks, with the ability to return to work, as quickly as possible, and also for those who wish to continue with their sporting / leisure activities. I treat many different conditions, achieving very good results.

The Benefits of Sports Therapy
The prime purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Above all, it can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether one is an athlete, ardent keep-fitter or a once a week jogger.
It is based on the various elements of Swedish massage and often incorporates a combination of other techniques involving stretching, compression, friction, toning, and trigger point response techniques similar to Acupressure and Shiatsu.
By concentrating on particular muscle groups the therapist can help the athlete maintain or improve range of motion and muscle flexibility.
